Highlights:
Tungna Storytelling and Singing Circle by the Fire
Hello I am a storyteller from Syabru. As evening comes to Langtang and the cold settles into the valley, we gather around the firewood just as our elders have always done. The tungna rests on the lap, warmed by the fire, its strings carrying the voices of our mountains.
In this circle, we will sing songs of travel, love, loss, and life in the high Himalayas. Some songs are playful, some are slow and heavy, and some are meant to be sung only at night, when the fire is burning low. Between the songs, stories are shared: about yaks and long journeys, about winters that tested us, about how we remember our ancestors.
You are not an audience here. You sit with us. You listen. If you wish, you may join the singing, clap to the rhythm, or simply watch the sparks rise into the dark sky. Tea is poured, the fire crackles, and time slows down.
This is how we share our stories. This is how we share and remember who we are.
