Welcome to Kahun Dharahara.
The northern entrance to the main market of Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki Province, is located at the top of Kahun Dharahara, located at 1444 meters above sea level.
According to the idea of the then Zonal Administrator of Gandaki Zone, Nanda Bahadur Malla, it was built in 2026 BS. The local level had a special contribution from social worker Major Bir Singh Gurung. At that time, it was built by collecting donations from teachers, employees, students, and social workers without making any investment from the state treasury. Since the picturesque views of the entire Pokhara can be enjoyed from Kahun Dharahara, its importance was considered great in terms of tourism from that time.
During the construction, Surki (clay, lime, badio, and meat materials are pounded into a leather) and stone were used. The Kahun Dharahar, which has never been a priority for maintenance by the state, has recently been given general maintenance at the local level. In the meantime, in 2077 BS, the height was reduced somewhat during the maintenance by the Pokhara Valley Development Committee, and cement was used in the right order, and the Dharahara is currently 9.85 meters high.
It is the best place to view the panoramic views of the Pokhara Valley, various places in Kaski district, the Himalayas, neighboring districts, local forests, etc., and it needs to be well-managed and operated. A DPR has been prepared with the idea of reconstructing the historical Dharahara, drawing attention to how domestic / foreign tourists can be brought to the only historical Kahun Dharahara in the beautiful tourist city of Pokhara.

काहुँ धरहरामा तपाइलाई स्वागत छ ।
गण्डकी प्रदेश राजधानी पोखरको मुख्य बजारको उत्तर प्रवेश समुन्द्र सतहबाट १४४४ मीटरमा अवस्थित कहुँडाँडाको शीरमा रहेको छ – काहुँडाँडाको धरहरा।
गण्डकी अञ्चलका तत्कालीन अञ्चलाधिश नन्दबहादुर मल्लको सोच अनुसार वि. स. २०२६ सालमा निर्माण भएको हो । स्थानिय स्तरबाट समाजसेवी मेजर बिर सिंह गुरुङको बिशेष योगदन रहेको थियो। तत्कालीन समयमा राज्यकोषबाट कुनै लगनी नगरि नै शिक्षक, कर्मचारी, विद्यार्थी, समाजसेविहरुबाट चन्दा सन्कलन गरी निर्माण गरिएको छ। काहुँ धरहराबाट पुरै पोखराको रमणीय दृश्यहरुको आनन्द लिन सकिने हुँदा यसको महत्व तत्कालिन समयबाट नै पर्यटकीय हिसाबले ठुलो मानिन्थ्यो।
निर्माण क्रममा सुर्की (माटो, चुन, बादियो, मास लगयतका सामाग्री कुटेर माटोलाई चाम्रो बनाइएको), ढुङ्गा प्रयोग गरी निर्माण गरिएको थियो । राज्यको तर्फबाट कहिल्यै पनि मर्मत संभारको लागि प्राथमिक्तामा नपरेको काहुँ धरहरलाई पछील्लो समय स्थानिय स्तरबाट सामान्य मर्मत संभार गरिएको हो। यसै क्रममा वि. सं. २०७७ सालमा पोखरा उपत्यका बिकास समितिबाट मर्मत संभार गर्दा केहि उचाइ घटाइएको छ भने सही क्रममा सीमेन्टको प्रयोग गरिएको अनि हाल धाराहरा ९.८५ मीटर अग्लो रहेको छ ।
पोखरा उपत्यकाको सहित कास्की जिल्लका बिभिन्न स्थानहरु, हिमाल छिमेकी जिल्लाहरु, स्थानिय जंगल लगायतको मनोरम दृश्यावलोकन गर्नको लागि सर्वोत्तम स्थानको रुपमा रहेको साथै सु-व्यवस्थित गरी संचालन गर्नुपर्ने अवस्थामा रहेको छ। सुन्दर पर्यटकीय नगरी पोखराको एक मात्र एतिहासिक काहुँ धरहरामा कसरी स्वदेशी / विदेशी पर्यटक भित्राउन सकिन्छ भन्ने तर्फ ध्यानाकषिर्त गराउदै उक्त एतिहासिक धरहरालाई पुर्न निर्माण गर्ने सोचका साथ डिपिआर निर्माण गरिसकिएको छ ।
