Welcome to Hanuman Durbar, Janakpurdham
Hanuman Durbar (temple) is located south from Ramananda Chowk and west of the main pitch road. On BS. 2031, on the occasion of Ram Nawami, a big Yagya was organized here which increases its importance/fame among the pilgrims. This temple was built by Ramchandra Saran of Madhubani Sujatpur in BS 2017. Long ago there was a monkey called Bauwa Hanuman. Dr. Laxmi Narayan Jha brought this monkey and saint Ramsaran worshiped this monkey as Hanuman. Still in the present days people worship this monkey as Hanuman. This was one of the world’s biggest monkey weighing 55 kg.
