CHOMA CHO

‘Choma Cho’ reflects the sacred Nilgiri Mountain, Mesokando and nearby hills. There are actually two lakes and both of them are called Chema Cho. There is an interesting local story behind the naming of ‘Choma Cho Taal’. Once, a mother was collecting firewood and natural manure for her house near the lake with her son. While she was busy collecting the tinder, she was unaware about her son. After a while, she called out to him and searched for him everywhere but could not find him. When she reached near the lake searching for him, she made the water clear and saw the reflection of Nilgiri and nearby mountains. But she could not see her son in the lake. Upon a closer look, she saw a image her son, sitting on a nearby tree on the reflection of the lake. And finally she was reunited with her son.

Most people come here to pray to the lake and Nigiri mountain at the same time. The trail ahead is an extension of Jungle Safari. However, the trail is much more navigable and the vegetation is less dense.

Get ready for an exciting long walk to our ending point. It offers clear view of Mt Dhaulagiri throughout your journey. Since this trail has loosely spread gravel, consider taking breaks along the way. Use boots with tight grip and take your steps carefully. It normally takes 1-2 hours to
complete this part of the trail.
