This village, located in Rautahat District, recognized the importance of education and the revival of the ancient Sanskrit language. As a result, Sanskrit Madhyamik School and Shri Saraswati Middle English School were established in 2011 B.S. (1954 A.D.). However, over time, due to the devastating erosion caused by the Bagmati River, the schools were completely destroyed. Later, Sanskrit Madhyamik School was merged with another Sanskrit school in Kalaiya, Bara.

Revival of Education in the Village

After losing their school, the children of this village were left without education. To address this, Nepal Rastriya Primary School was approved, offering education up to Grade 5. However, another wave of Bagmati River erosion soon followed, devastating both the school and the entire village.

Following this, the Nepal Red Cross acquired 9-0-0 (9 bighas) of land in Biraha, where the village was relocated. Portions of this land were allocated for public institutions, including the reconstruction of Nepal Rastriya Primary School, which was re-established with a thatched-roof building and resumed education up to Grade 5.

Transformation into a Sanskrit Secondary School

During a district visit by the then Director General of Education, Mr. Harihar Prasad Verma, he visited the school and, considering the majority Brahmin population and the importance of reviving the Sanskrit language and Sanatan traditions, approved its upgrade to a Sanskrit Secondary School.

Later, the District Education Committee officially recognized the school as a Sanskrit Madhyamik Vidyalaya (Secondary School). As the educational landscape evolved, all secondary schools were required to offer Grades 11 and 12. With the relentless efforts of the Village Development Committee (VDC) and the local intellectual community, the school was granted approval in 2066 B.S. (2009 A.D.) to introduce higher secondary education (Grades 11 and 12). Since then, the school has been providing uninterrupted education.
